Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul: Text To World

     I'm reading the book Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul by Jeff Kinney. This book is about a boy named Greg and his family and they go on a surprise road trip. It doesn't go as planned though. The family encounters so many bumps in the road. The trip wasn't pleasant for anyone especially Greg.
     I can compare this to events around me. I can compare because once my friend, Bailey went on a road trip and it didn't go so well. Her car was broken into and all of her stuff was stolen. Then during the trip her mom broke her foot in a storm grate. Her trip went down in flames just like the Heffley's did.
     I really like this idea of the book because it is very relatable. I mean its realistic fiction so this book could be based on real events. Besides I'm sure everyone who has siblings has problems with sharing and just getting along because I know I do. Also kids all of ages can read and understand the books because of how good it fits into kids lives. I enjoyed reading this book.
   

The Hunger Games Text To World

     The Hunger Games is a book about a girl named Katniss who lives in a poor district, district 12. Districts are like states, there are laws in each district. Katniss, her sister and her mother went to see who would be picked for the tributes for the Hunger Games. After Katniss's sister was chosen as a tribute, Katniss feared of her sister being in the Hunger Games so Katniss volunteered as Tribute for her sister. Now Katniss is in the Hunger Games with another tribute named Peeta. Katniss is now training for the Hunger Games.

     This reminds me of when men used to have to go to war no matter what. In the Hunger Games 2 people in each district have to play in the games no matter the cost of death. Hunger Games has many other connections to share but this is a main connection from the story to the world. This is because the games is the whole point of the book. Without the games there would be no story so I chose the main connection.

     I liked the genre of the book a lot and this is a book I recommend this book for everybody in 7th or 8th grade because of the word choice. The book makes sense  and doesn't confuse you on what is happening. The book has great detail for you to imagine what the games were really like. Text to world: Rebels of the Kasbah

Rebels of the Kasbah is a story about how an Orphan, a village boy, a tribe boy and an English school girl use their friend ship to escape slavery. Tariq, an orphan, is kidnapped from his orphanage in Tangier. Aseem is sold into slavery by his father, while Fez's family gets brutally slaughtered by Zahir, a ruthless servant under Caid Ali Tamzali. Margaret, an English schoolgirl, gets kidnapped from a hotel after jumping off her fathers ship which was being raided by pirates. All four of these friends plan an escape after Sanaa, and Zijuan lead a resistance army to save them.

I think this relates to real world events because in the Rif mountain range, there are many rebels. This story also connects to real life because the french did try to claim Morocco. In real life there is still today, slavery and Casbahs. I think that in some middle eastern countries and in Africa, life can sometimes be cruel. And the Saharan desert really does get to 120 degrees a lot.

I still don't know how, if one is kidnapped a free person, they become slave property when kidnapped? Also, I don't get how Tariqs mom and her clan would risk all of their lives to save one boy? I also don't get why all the warlords would eventually join the French if they know their land would be taken from them.            
 

Text to World P.S I Like You

   The book I am currently reading is P.S. I Like You by Kasie West.  After her chemistry teacher banned her notebook from class, because she was writing lyrics instead of writing notes, Lily is forced to scribble lyrics on her desk. Then, when she came to class the next day, she finds the lyrics have been finished. Suddenly, Lily finds herself swapping notes with the mysterious pen pal and telling him all about her crazy family, friends and life. It was easy sharing problems with someone you don't know. Lily soon finds herself falling deeply in love with the mystery man, while trying to figure out who it could be, the nice guy her friend is trying to get her with, the school's biggest jerk and the person Lily hates, or the cute hoodie-and-Converse guy who always has his earbuds in (and the guy Lily likes)? You need to read the book to find out.

   The conflict in the story is that Lily is being bullied by the schools biggest jerk, Cade, just like in some schools, kids get bullied by older or bigger kids in their school.Then, there is the other conflict where Lily is trying to find her anonymous pen pal, just like when the slaves were trying to escape, the masters didn't know who was taking or hiding them.

   If I were Lily, I would go out and try to find out who the mysterious pen pal is. I found the answer to my last question. Cade is mean to Lily because Lily thought Cade was making fun of her when he gave her the nickname, Magnet. I hope that everything comes out better in the end of the story.

     I am reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K Rowling. It is about a boy named Harry being chased by Voldemort, The evil vizard rising to power. There are many great and thrilling moments in it. It has some connections to todays world even though it was written years ago.
     It connects in manny ways. One is that in the story there is a large sports gathering and that is common all over the world. It also has a moment where there are wizards that attack the event. That has been happening lately. When a person does something that scares allot of people many times in the book so people are after him. Also Harry thinks something is wrong but people don't believe him because he is a kid and that is normal in todays world.
     I think Harry Potter is a great series. It deals with some things in the world while still having an interesting story. If you like a great story to occupy your time this is a great book. The series is amazing.

Fablehevean

     Fablehevean is a good book in my opinion because it is my favorite genre. The genre is fantasy because it has mythical creatures and magic. It`s about Kendra and her brother Seth going on a trip to their grandparents house out in the woods. What they expected is less then what they actually got from the trip.

     It`s about a vacation and a lot of people go on vacations. On most vacations you don`t get to see real mythical creatures, especially at you grandparents house. Thats not the case when Kendra and Seth go to their grandparents house. Fableheaven, as it`s called, is past from caretaker to caretaker just like a house which is past from owner to owner.

     Now I wonder why Seth and Kendra`s grandpa chose to be the caretaker. I love the way the story is written. It`s so detailed and you can see everything perfectly in your head. I don`t understand some of the words though but, don`t let that discourage you to read it because it`s a really good book.

The Red Pyramid-Tryston Oliver

          Have you ever wondered about time traveling?What about time coming to you!I am reading The Red Pyramid, by Rick Riordan.So far Carter and Sadie have experienced some hard fights.They have finally reached Phoenix/Set on the day of his birthday.Now they have to stop him before he gets to powerful to stop.He said he is too destroy their world to make his own.You'd have to read this book to find out.

         This could be described as World War II, Set was like Hitler he didn't like anybody but himself.He wanted power and to Kill anybody in his path.Which made the magicians pretty mad but, they also thought it was Carter and Sadie's fault for letting him become what he is, such as the people voting Hitler their president.This is also a similar event in presidential issues.Americans are thinking trump is bad for doing good stuff that really they are over exaggerating.But since Hillary hasn't said any of this or even a good cause to help she is given help same as Set  being let loose just because Carters dad was trying to help.Yet now it's on the kids?
     I wonder why these causes are always all similar to world events or history?I gets you thinking how the author writes a good book.He connects it to something that kids think is a major issue.I think that every author should do this to make their books better.What event brought you into your book?       

Out of my mind by: Sharon draper

         I'm  reading Out of my mind by Sharon Draper  Melody is the main character, she has a disability, and isn’t able to walk, or talk. Someone has to do everything for her. Then she finally has the chance to go to school, and goes into what they call room H-5 it’s the room for the kids with special needs. After that her mother has a baby named Penny. She then has a chance to join a regular class instead of being stuck in her normal class. Melody was nervous  that she might make a fool of herself. After spending a few day in a regular class she was able to make a friend named, Rose.
It can relate to the world because may people have disabilities just like Melody. Many kids, or adults suffer from the disabilities, similar to Melody. Melody has try to go to school with the fact that she does have a disability, and face the mean world and she might not even make friends. Just like if you were to go to work, or school you would have to face to world, and the mean comments that people would say about you.
Melody has to go to school to and face the mean comments of her classmates.
I'm so excited to see how my book ends. I'm hoping it ends well for Melody and she make lots of friends. I also hope is is able to over come her challenging life. I hope she can inspire other people to do the same. I super excited to know if she over comes her challenge.

Text to World: The 5th Wave

  The book The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey is about the apocalypse invasion. Cassie, the main character lost her family to it, from deceiving soldiers to the red death. Before it all, no one had been aware. No one could have cared. Until it struck. The first wave blacking out all electricity. The second, surf's up. The third, a deadly disease causing people to bleed out called the Red Death, or Pestilence. The fourth, the silencers come to wipe out anyone else who survived the third. And the fifth is coming, no one knowing of what is is, what to expect of it, and to trust no one.
  This story is similar to the Civil War because of how many deaths there were. Millions of the population was wiped from the Civil War, and in The 5th Wave, many people are killed, too.In the Civil War, people died because of fighting, and that could be close to this case. In the book, people are killed by the Others, but with unknown reasons. Although they are similar, in the Civil War people fought in war and for their rights and beliefs. In the story, people's lives are lost because intentional reasons of some sort.
  I wonder why the Others are attacking the human population, attempting to take as many lives as possible. Maybe to take over Earth? I don't know. The last people left are either just taking the Other's side in taking people, or they are building armies of some kind by training the last of humanity to fight back.

Text to World: The 39 Clues the Maze of Bones

      Suddenly Grace discovers no one knows anything about the clues. The 39 Clues The Maze of Bones is a book written by Rick Riordan which is full of mystery and adventure. Amy and Dan Cahill have, well actually had a relative that recently died. Her name was Grace Cahill. Before dying, Grace cahill left a challenge for the family members, the family members could choose to leave the challenge or take the challenge. Amy and Dan took the challenge, though they didn't know where to start. Suddenly they found a secret library which was Grace Cahill's library.
      This problem is a bit similar to an event in history which is about the Northerners and the Southerners. It is similar because in the book Grace Cahill challenges the family members and in the historical event the Southerners challenged the Northerners to the Civil War. The problem of The 39 Clues the Maze of Bones is similar to an event about Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.
In the book Grace challenges the family members. Right now Trump is challenging Hillary to be the president if she dares.
      I wonder why Grace Cahill left a challenge for the family. It was probably to reveal a mystery
or a secret. A second possibility is because she wanted the person that solved the mystery to have all of her money and riches. Another possibility I thought of, was that she wanted the family members that didn't win, let the m know who the smart one is in the family. The very last possibility I thought of was that she wanted the family members to know who their ancestors were and that they are part of one of the most important families in history.

Text to world- Counting by 7's

     This book is called counting by 7's it is by; Holly Goldberg Sloan.  Counting by 7’s is a book about a girl named Willow Chance and she was adopted by two people that couldn't have kids. But something bad happens. Her mom and dad died in a car crash and she was so sad and didn't know what to think or do, but going on she learns how to move on but still hold on. And she shows you how much you really appreciate your family and friends.
In the book something devastating happens as it read in paragraph one, Willows parents died in a car crash. In the world things such as car crashes and kids parents dying really do happen. Some kids don't know what to do or think like Willow didn't. And car crashes happen all the time, small ones or awful and really bad ones.
     I  Felt so sad when I  found out her parents died.  I would feel the same way where I wouldn't know what to do, or how to feel, I would just feel shocked and really, really sad.  I don't know how I could overcome this tragedy. I would feel awful and  devastated , But later in life I know I would learn to move on but still hold my parents close in my heart.

Urban Outlaws-Text to World

     Urban Outlaws is a Realistic-Fiction book by: Peter Jay Black. It is about five kids who have no parents. What they want to do is, they want to give those who have little, a little bit more. They call it R.A.K's (random acts of kindness). When they  do this they find their "targets" and give them what they need for their life. When they see the reaction of their "targets" face it's usually a face of surprise. But the Outlaws have a struggle, they get their money from smugglers who are illegally smuggling items, and when they get caught things start to go south.

      I can relate Urban Outlaws to almost any thing. I can relate it to who ever gives R.A.K (I tried finding anyone but I couldn't). Kids can have struggles without there parents. They can live in orphanages. Anyone can do what they want there are a lot of people that do this.

     I like the way the author puts his books into description. If I were one of the outlaws I would attempt to keep things silent. The Character I most admire is Jack, because he tries to keep the others safe. I hope you could like this book as much as I could.    

Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard by Rick Riordan

     My book is called Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard by Rick Riordan. Magnus Chase ends up on the streets when his mother tells him to run and that she would find him. But his mother never found him because an evil wolf killed her. Now he searches for food on the streets until he tries to save the world. The next thing he knows, hes being blown off of a bridge and in the halls of Valhalla. Valhalla is a special place for heroes and that is where he met Samariah Al Abbas, a Valkyrie. Now he is trying to save the world even though he doesn't want to.
     A problem in this story is where Surt, a fire giant, is trying to take over the city. We've had a problem like this during 9/11 where terrorist tried to take over a plane and crash it. During my book when Surt tried to take over Magnus refused to let it happen. Magnus said in my book that he would die if he had to so that he could defeat Surt. On 9/11, the people refused to let the terrorists take over the plane and fought to take the plane back. Every person on that plane didn't care if they died, as long as the plane didn't reach its destined target, which was said to be The White House.
     I love how in the book Magnus is so brave and courageous and how he doesn't care what happens to him. The character I most admire is Magnus because of how he doesn't give up when his mother died. I like Blitzen because he never gives up on his dreams of becoming a clothes designer.

Text to World: Guardians of Ga'hoole

I am reading Guardians of Ga'hoole right now. There are about 14 or 15 books in the series. Anyways, the author is Kathryn Lasky. To summarize the book I am reading, it is about Coryn and Soren reading about the Legends of how the Ga'hoole tree came to be. I'm not going to tell you anything else because if you want to know what it is about, you have to read it yourself.

When the character Siv flees so Lord Arrin won't steal her egg, it reminds me of in history when sometimes armies would flee because the enemy is overpowering them. Also, When Pleek and Ygryk try to steal Siv's egg, it reminds me of times when Adults sometimes kidnap children that are walking down the street.

I was surprised when Fengo ripped out one of the other wolf's eye because it is unusual. Apparently,
in this book it is a tradition to rip out eyes at the beyond the beyond. The first time I read the book I was worried that Siv would die, because many times Lord Arrin and his army surrounded her so I thought they would kill her, but it turned out many times she escaped. There are some spoilers in this book I do not want to tell you because i want you to read it instead of me trying to spoil the plot of the story.

      I am reading the book Lightning Thief. It's about god's son who finds out who his farther is. His mom was captured by an evil god and was in a battle and disappeared out of thin air. Then he goes to Half Blood Hill, a camp for kids that are son of gods.
      The world connection to this is that in one point in life you have to do something you don't want to. When you are going through tough times sometimes your confused about what's happening. Your confused and you need to ask to see what's really happening in your life.
      Percy is getting blamed for stuff he never did. Then, since they think it was him they have to send him on a quest. He has to find Zeus, the god. His master bolt was stolen and they think it was Percy. When Percy goes on his quest he runs into problems unexpectedly. Then one of his friends that are helping him with his quest figures out the more Percy finds out, the more monsters he will attract.

     I am reading the book harry potter and sorcerer's stone. Its about this kid who is a wizard but he doesn't find out until the middle of the movie. His parents were wizards but they died. Harry hasn't meet his parents because of that.Now he goes to hogwarts. That is a wizard school and he is the highest in his class.
    the world connection to this that everyone goes to school. Also the smartest people in the class are the highest in the class. They learn way faster than other people. Also your parents could die in a car accident or just natural causes. Also everyone goes to school and meets friends and their teachers.
     Harry potter is leaning a lot more than everyone less because his parents were wizards and were the best they could be. He is helping people when they need it like the teachers. He has already made a lot of friends. This is a great book and you should read it .

                  The book I am reading now is called, Accidentally Famous, a chapter book made by Lisa Papademetriou. Amy Flowers just started seventh grade and she has some friends, Michiko, Mitchie, and Kiwi, where in the beginning, they are at a party where they must wear green for representing the Earth or the environment, which Amy's mother made. They have a good time eating and talking until Linda, Fiona's mom, the popular girl, ( Fiona's the popular girl ) asks Amy to take a models place to model for Linda's shop. But she then finds out she has to work with Fiona, will they get along, or will the store become a homeless wreck because of them?
              In Accidentally Famous, the story can be similar because the setting and the plot can be related to real life and all the literature events can happen in real life such as; Amy somehow had her clothes sabotage before her modeling but turned out to be a success. That can happen. And plus the story is realistic fiction which can relate to life. Anything can happen in realistic fiction, even though it is fiction, doesn't mean it can't happen, it is realistic fiction.
                   I would recommend this book if you like realistic fiction and if you are into first person point of view and if you are fine with a possibly based on real life. It involves a girl who wasn't as popular in schools whereas she signs up for modeling and becomes famous for her modeling. I rate this book 8/10 because the 2/10 side means it's not super exiting but the 8/10 means it is a cool book and it seems like a possible thought to realization. Doesn't seem like a bad book, but it isn't as good either, it's like a stay home book. Not bad, recommend if you are into based of real literature thoughts and all literature events.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair-Text to World

  I'm reading The Silver Chair by C.S. Lewis. Eustace and Jill are about to be caught by bullies at their school. They run to a door at full speed to a door that is always locked, but just now, it's open! They go through the door leading to the open moor, but they end up in a strange place, in Narnia! Aslan gives the children a very important task, but is it too overwhelming, difficult, and dangerous?
  This book connects to the world because of the theme. It shows you to listen to your elders and people with experience because it always goes better. The children don't listen to the first three things Alsan tells them to do. This results in the biggest challenge throughout the book for a while. How does this connect to the world? Well, there are endless times when people didn't listen to wise ones and they mess up at something. This stretches back to ancient times.
  I haven't finished this book but it is very interesting and has a good plot. Characters clearly develop throughout the story because of their challenges. I wonder why this author puts so much detail into things that don't really matter. It does add to the story though.This book keeps exponentially gaining my attention. That is just one of the wonders in this book. I do recommend this book to any who like fantasy, action, or adventure books. This is a great book and I hope you take the opportunity to read this someday as well.

Love, Stargirl (Text to World)

     She's alone, he left her, this is her letter. Love, Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli is about a girl who is strange, quirky, unlike others. She just left Arizona where she used to go to school and met a boy she loved. The sequel to Stargirl is an interesting book full of out of the ordinary events. It's written in the form of a diary, the longest letter in the world, as Stargirl calls it.
     I noticed that the book Stargirl demonstrates Stargirl as a person out of place because it is in the point of view of a boy. But in Love, Stargirl she isn't left out because she thinks everyone's her friend and she doesn't notice the people ignoring her. This is like the people in school who are special in their own way and mean something to other people, while the majority of people at school see them as strange.
    Stargirl's personality varies widely, one day she's on her bed all day, and the next she could be giving away items that are special to her. But Stargirl always turns out as a person who can't say no and is helpful. The story teaches you that after something, you start getting on with your life and meet new people and make new friends. I thought that this book wasn't that interesting because there are not very special events, sometimes there's an event that hangs on to you in the book, but most of the time it's just Stargirt narrating what's going on in her every day life.

     The Selection by Kiera Cass, is a story about a seventeen-year-old girl named America Singer who enters the Selection, a lottery in which girls from all castes get to compete for the heart of Prince Maxon. To every girl this is an opportunity of a lifetime, but for America, being selected would be a nightmare. It would mean giving up her secret love for Aspen and leaving her home to fight for a crown she doesn't want, but then America meets Prince Maxon, and everything changes.

     In The Selection, there are eight castes, eight being the lowest and one being the best. America lives in caste five, where food is not the best quality. In the lower castes, food is very scarce, people are poor, and lots of people are servants. This relates to history when the great depression happened and everyone was poor, starving, and sick. It even relates to today when the rich people (representing the first three castes) have a bunch of money and food while the poor people (representing the lower castes) starve. One other similarity is to the Bachelorette and the Selection because they are both competing for someone's heart/love.

     This book is so good that I couldn't even put it down! It makes me want to get all the other books to the series. I love the way the author wrote this book and how they thought of this idea. All the characters are amazing. I noticed how their society is different from ours and how they live is interesting. I suggest this book to people who love young adult fiction, fantasy, and science fiction. It was a brilliant and engaging story that had my head stuck the book!
