The Hunger Games is a book about a girl named Katniss who lives in a poor district, district 12. Districts are like states, there are laws in each district. Katniss, her sister and her mother went to see who would be picked for the tributes for the Hunger Games. After Katniss's sister was chosen as a tribute, Katniss feared of her sister being in the Hunger Games so Katniss volunteered as Tribute for her sister. Now Katniss is in the Hunger Games with another tribute named Peeta. Katniss is now training for the Hunger Games.
This reminds me of when men used to have to go to war no matter what. In the Hunger Games 2 people in each district have to play in the games no matter the cost of death. Hunger Games has many other connections to share but this is a main connection from the story to the world. This is because the games is the whole point of the book. Without the games there would be no story so I chose the main connection.
I liked the genre of the book a lot and this is a book I recommend this book for everybody in 7th or 8th grade because of the word choice. The book makes sense and doesn't confuse you on what is happening. The book has great detail for you to imagine what the games were really like.
